Principal Scientific Researcher, Ophthalmology Neuroscience

The Department of Neuroscience seeks a highly motivated,
productive and talented Principal Scientific Researcher to perform
discovery research in the area of neuroprotection for ocular
diseases. The successful candidate will implement a variety of
molecular and cellular techniques to elucidate pathogenic
mechanisms and identify novel targets for therapeutic intervention.
This is a hands-on laboratory position with abundant opportunity
for collaboration with other researchers in a highly dynamic and
interdisciplinary environment. Technical as well as intellectual
contributions to the team are expected.
Who You Are:
Applicants should have a relevant PhD with education and
experience in retinal and/or neurodegenerative diseases, as well as
a basic understanding of stem cell biology. Postdoctoral experience
is a plus. The ideal candidate will have expertise in a wide range
of molecular and cellular biology techniques, including primary or
stem cell culture, functional assay development, fluorescent
microscopy, CRISPR/Cas, scRNA seq and AAV technologies. Though not
required, experience with in vivo pre-clinical models is a plus.
Track record of completing challenging problems independently and
creatively, exemplified by publication of research in high-quality
scientific journals is required.
