The (Senior) Director, Talent Acquisition will play a key role in creating and executing talent strategies that will result in hiring the best talent who will deliver on our mission: Leading the way to better medicines through predictive models that integrate machine learning and biology at scale.

Proactive outreach and cultivating relationships with innovative talent that matches the needs of our fast growing organization, as well as closely collaborating with hiring managers and cross-functional teams, partnering with appropriate search firms and third-party recruiters will be critical in this role to have a lasting impact on the organization. In partnership with the VP, People and other leaders in the organization, this role will help build insitro's brand as an employer of choice and advance our talent strategy and ecosystem.

As the (Senior) Director, Talent Acquisition, you will lead all aspects of an effective talent acquisition strategy of a fast scaling organization and will help foster a diverse, inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture. You will be joining the founding team of a biotech startup that has long-term stability due to significant funding, yet is very much in formation. You will be able to coordinate people and processes and execute the right strategies to reach our hiring goals by primarily focusing on the following areas:

* Manage the search process from intake, strategy, recruiting, assessment, referencing, and offer negotiations to onboarding * Cultivate and utilize existing professional networks and industry knowledge to identify the right candidates and approach to highly specialized roles * In collaboration with hiring managers and teams, assess candidates to ensure they meet required qualifications, fit the culture, and will add value to the organization * Drive interest and awareness of insitro's brand and value proposition, including social media * Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders: * Engage candidates with exceptional communication, influence and business savvy * Operate as trusted advisor and subject matter expert to senior leaders and recruiting teams * Select and manage appropriate search firms and recruiters, including negotiating agreements and ensuring the level of quality and overall needs of the company are met

* Partner with function group leaders to develop and drive talent strategy including organizational design, talent acquisition, development plans, and employee engagement * Help mentor a small recruiting team * Understand and proactively address needs related to engagement, leadership and overall culture * Provide training, coaching and development in all areas of talent acquisition and onboarding

About You

* 8+ years prior experience experience in talent acquisition, search and placement * Strong functional expertise including behavioral/competency based interviewing experience and a successful track record of working through the full recruitment cycle * Prior experience in biotech/Life Sciences or High Tech is required, experience in both industries is preferred * Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment * Excellent verbal and written communication and interaction skills * Self-motivated, proactive with demonstrated ability to take initiative and solve problems * Exceptional project management skills, the ability to track and manage several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy * Growth mindset with interest to learn new things and ability to adapt to changes in a growing organization * Good judgment and adept at handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion * Knowledge of BambooHR, Lever, Lattice, Slack, Confluence preferred * Passion for making a difference in the world
