Job Description Job Description Senior Accountant A well-established nonprofit organization in Richmond, CA is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in the nonprofit sector and brings strong experience in fund accounting, grant management, and billing. Key Responsibilities Manage nonprofit billing, including cost reimbursement contracts and grant-related invoicing. Maintain accurate accounting for restricted and unrestricted funds. Oversee job cost allocation, ensuring proper coding and alignment with organizational budgets. Support month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation. Assist with grant compliance reporting and documentation. Collaborate with program staff to ensure proper tracking and spending of grant funds. Maintain strong internal controls and support audit preparation. Required Qualifications BA/BS in Accounting required. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience , specifically within the nonprofit industry . Demonstrated experience with: Grant billing and grant compliance Restricted/unrestricted fund accounting Job cost allocation Nonprofit financial reporting Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles. Proficiency with accounting software (such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cost-reimbursement contracts Experience preparing for audits Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a mission-focused team How to Apply Our client will be hiring for this project to start in February.
